To be certified an official must successfully complete the following 3 steps:
1) Have a current AAU Membership (Non-Athlete Ault Membership)
2) Have completed all current training modules and passed the online test
3) Be up-to-date with on-court observation requirement
NOTE: Step 3 can be accomplished by attending an approved AAU rating event rating or by holding a current advanced rating with another officiating organization. Details for this exemption are included on application for rating page.

While preferred that all observations for ratings at the District and Regional level take place by the National AAU Training Team, these changes (which may include possible travel limitations for raters), may lead to a need an allowance for some events to have only ‘local’ observers assigned to them.
